We caught up with Lizz Rene, Founder of PO' UP! the nostalgic collegiate drinking game. Lizz shares some game night hosting tips for hosting friends throughout the year.

Kass: What are your top 3 game night must-haves?
Lizz: Assuming PO' UP! Card Game is a given, my top 3 game night must-haves are music, drinks and small bites.

Kass: What is your go-to Game Night appetizer?
Lizz: I love getting creative with at-home charcuterie boards! I even have a board in the shape of the state of Georgia where I attended college - Go Dawgs!

Kass: What is your favorite Game Night cocktail?
Lizz: It depends on the season. If it's summer - definitely a pitcher of sangria made with André Mack's "In Sheeps Clothing." In the fall, I lean towards something easy like Soul Mega beer. In the winter, I like to make Bourbon Smashes with Uncle Nearest Whiskey. And last but not least in the spring, I enjoy something light like a cucumber gimlet with Ingenious Gin. All of these wine and spirits are Black-owned and I like to be intentional about including BIPOC-owned brands in everything that I do.

Kass: What is the best time of year to gather collegiate friends for a game night?
Lizz: College football season is the best time of year to gather with friends from college for game night. It's during the fall when temperatures start to get cooler and people look forward to staying inside. Additionally, you have homecoming events and tailgates where you'll always run into old college friends.
